Call to Order
Priscilla Moeller called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. in The Christ Hospital Classroom #1&2. .
Secretary’s Report
The minutes from the September 13, 2011 were approved as read.
Treasurer’s Report
Donna Schlemmer reported a checking account balance of $5,171.26 and a savings account balance of $13,052.05
National Correspondence
Priscilla reported that the Chapter was permitted 9 delegates to Congress, and the designation of Delegate Alterative will be no longer available. She stated that only two people have asked to be Delegates: Lois Belton and herself.
Committee Reports
Program
Linda Dreeszen reported that the November educational topic will be “Open vs. Closed Laparoscopic Hernia Repair” with Dr. Donovan speaking. The January educational topic will on “Hemostasis and Clotting”. The February meeting will feature either Dr. Muck speaking on Endovascular Grafts or Dr. Lohr speaking on Breast Cancer. The March educational topic will be on “Herbs and Vitamins”, with Debbie Niehaus as the speaker. The April meeting will be either Dr. Muck or Dr. Lohr, depending on speaker availability.
Refreshments
Wanda reported that there is a sign-up sheet being passed around for volunteers to bring refreshments for the November meeting.
Ways and Means
Priscilla reported that a final report for the Bulb fund raiser was not available yet.
Ruth Eyerman reported that the pocket calendars were in, and now available.
Priscilla reminded the members that the Holiday Raffle tickets were still being sold. All monies and tickets are due on November 8, 2011 for the drawing.
Rick Goedde was not available for the final report from the annual Golf Outing. Donna Schlemmer stated that a check for $225 had been written for the Free Store.
Membership
Priscilla reported (on behalf of Amy Barton) that, that as of today, the chapter has 262 members.
Legislation
Lois Belton was not available for a report on legislation
Old Business
It was reported that the collected toiletries were delivered to Tender Mercies.
Ruth Eyerman reported on her investigation of having a Perioperative Nurses display at the Cincinnati Sports Club on Saturday, November 5, 2011, from 10 am to 4 pm. After discussion, it was decided to not to participate this year, but to potentially do it next year.
New Business
Priscilla stated that a new liaison between the Chapter’s webmaster (Matt Helmer) and the Chapter is needed. Nancy Hellman volunteered.
Announcements
Priscilla announced that the next Chapter meeting will be on November 8, 2011 in The Christ Hospital Classroom #4, and the next Board of Directors meeting will be January 17, 2011
Educational Raffle
The October Educational Raffle was won by Nancy Hellman
