Call to Order
Linda Rulon called the Chapter meeting, at Bethesda Oak facility, at 6:38 p.m.

Secretary’s Report
The minutes from the May 13, 2008 Chapter meeting were approved as reviewed.

Old Business
No old business.

Treasurer’s Report
Bonnie Volpp reported a balance in checking of $2,900.78 and a savings balance of $17,964.35.  Bonnie reminded the chapter, that despite the good financial picture of the Chapter, financial vigilance is still needed.

National Correspondance
Linda reported that there was no correspondence from National .

Correspondance Reports
Melissa Backscheider reported that the September 9, 2008 Chapter meeting would be at the new Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden animal hospital.  Contact hours are being pursued.  Melissa stated that the animal hospital would be most grateful if we could bring any surgical supplies that would be normally thrown away.  These items did not have to be sterile.  Suggested items include drapes & Betadine® solution.  Lois Belton suggested that this may be a service project for the Chapter

Melissa reported that the October 14, 2008 Chapter meeting would be held at The Christ Hospital Auditorium.  She stated this meeting was a combined meeting with CAPANA (Cincinnati chapter of American Society of PeriAnesthisa Nurses), and it was our turn to sponsor the meeting.  Ruth Eyerman reported that Mary Lou Rigdon was the chapter president.

Melissa requested ideas for speakers and/or ideas for upcoming meetings.

 

Ways and Means

Rick Goedde reported the he had 44 people committed to the Golf Outing, and only 3 door prizes.  He asked that if anyone had anything to donate to call him (Cell: 368-0628) and he could pick them up.  Items were needed by this Friday.  Bonnie Volpp & Lynn Miller would help register participants and help out with the golf outing.

 

New Leadership Conference
Linda Rulon reported that the Board of Directors had decided that the Chapter would cover the expenses for the Leadership Conference.  This includes airfare, registration and hotel.

Linda reported that there has been a change in fees assessed for educational contact hours.  The chapter needs to be vigilant to insure the lowest fee(s) possible.

Nancy Hellman passed around the Committee sign up sheet.  She gave a brief synopsis of each committee and reminded the members that sign-up was needed every year. 


Annoucements

The next Ohio Council meeting is this Saturday (June 14, 2008) at the Dutch Heritage Restaurant in Bellevue OH at 12 noon.

Linda Rulon recognized all visitors.

Priscilla Moeller was the winner of the monthly educational raffle.  Bonnie Volpp explained the purpose of this educational raffle, for the benefit of the visitors.

Linda Rulon presented Jeanne Kiser (past Chapter president) with an appreciation gift of a desk clock. This clock was engraved with Jeanne’s name and dates of her presidency.
